Photo of the Day

The photographs within this photo are of Charles Coulson. My great-grandmother, Emma Coulson must have been especially grateful he made it home from the war. He was the one I wrote about on December 7th. His and his shipmates' lives were spared at Pearl Harbor on that awful day.

When I lived in Dallas, I often got to visit with a sailor who survived Pearl Harbor. His mother, a great lady, lived next door to me, and he visited her frequently to check on her. I never tired of hearing about Dec. 7, 1941, and how Americans pulled together in an instant after the attack.

This group of pictures, with the blue star, is great.
