Writings and musings on the eccentric beauty of sacrifice. Come journey and write with us. We are resolved to capture something positive in a troubled world and laugh when we can along the way. This, then, is dedicated in Loving Memory to LCpl. Aaron C. Austin, USMC KIA Fallujah, Iraq on April 26, 2004. Rock On...

Semper Fi Mom,
Did I see you and your husband on KCBD local news this morning? It was a wonderful piece.
Karen, yes you did. I can't believe you knew that was us! ;)
Semper Fi Mom,
De'on had sent me one of her e-mails from you when you were asking about Teresa, and it had your first name on it. Then, I knew that you had 2 sons in the Military, so I just deduced! You both look to young to have 2 sons old enough for the Military. It's nice to put a face with a name!
Tell me all about it! I just knew Semper Fi Mom would look young!
Thanks for saying I look young! Y'all are so sweet! De'on if you go to KCBD.com you can see it. I hate to hear myself on there with my accent.
Oh, I will. And I know what you mean about hearing yourself talk. I ask everyone if I can just write. When I open my mouth, people think I'm from Georgia, which would be great if I was, but I'm not.
I hate saying things like "pepper" or "no, pepper, black pepper, like salt and pepper ..." to the Sonic girl who thinks I'm saying "paper!"
