New Mexico Soldier Killed

The U.S. Army released this photo of Sgt. Matthew Apuan, 27, who died of a head wound while serving in Iraq. Apuan is the 27th New Mexican killed in Iraq. His father, Charles Apuan, said
he was notified late Sunday by a military chaplain and hoped to receive more information later in the week. Apuan was a tank gunner with the 1st Cavalry based at Fort Hood, Texas, and was on his second tour of duty in Iraq.
